So today I was walking home from class, and it was absolutely freezing!!! There was freezing wind blowing all over the place, and it was burning my face and making my eyes water, and my body was absolutely miserable. But is that what I was thinking about? No. I was watching the orange and yellow leaves blow around me, and thinking about how much I love fall. Then I started thinking about it and realized that every season is beautiful! Winter with its natural glitter falling from the sky, Spring with the smell of fresh rain and watching nature come back to life, and Summer, with the wildflowers and warm sun shining down. I absolutely adore nature, and everything about it- and I think I've finally figured out why. Nothing in this world- that God created- is ugly. Nature is pure. There are no outside influences to distract you from hearing the Spirit. There is no TV, no video games, no war, no political battles- no ugliness. In my opinion, all the ugliness in the world is created by man. Nature is the one place where I can forget all my problems. There are no deadlines, just me, God, and the wildlife (and anyone else who is with me). This life is so hard, but at least He made the earth beautiful for us! It's just another testimony to me that God and Christ love us. This past week I have been struggling- with school, money, roommates, and my hopes and fears for the future, but then I walked home from class. Despite the long walk through the freezing weather, I had a total epiphany. Yeah, life can sometimes stink, but I actually have it pretty good. After all, I have the knowledge of God and the Savior, and that they love me and know me, I have a loving family who is always looking out for me and loving me no matter how stupid I am. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, clothes on my back, a decent paying job, and so many academic, spiritual, and life teachers. What are my trials compared to all my blessings?! Thinking about it brings me INFINITE happiness! Can you see the amazing impact that nature can have on a person?

You know you should be a Rec Management Major when...

My Bouquet and Apartment
I suppose it's time to post pics of my most humble abode. So here it is! Woot woot! Oh yeah, there's also pictures of my first bouquet! Believe me, if I had any inclination to major in Floral Design, it has long passed and am now set in my conviction to major in Recreation Management (my fancy use of vocabulary can scarcely be explained, except to say that I am currently watching Pride and Prejudice). In fact, right now I'm applying for SEVERAL winter jobs for my introductory internship- not the least of which are Sun Valley, Idaho, Snowflake Ski Resort near Flagstaff, Arizona, and... DISNEYLAND!!! I won't lie, I would be ecstatic if I was hired for the latter.... :D

My Roomies
Sadly, I don't have any pictures with my roommates- yet. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for me- I'm friends with all of them on Facebook! Mwahahahahahahahaha... Anyway- These are them... :)
This is Lacy- depending on her mood and sleep levels, she can be either a vegetable, or a fiery ball of energy. No matter what, she is absolutely adorable. Her head is full of random trivia and love to share it. She is also the only clean freak- which is REALLY good. She is Mom in the cleaning department, and if not for her, we would be living in an absolute trash dump.
This is Jocelyn- our exotic Californian (the rest of us are from Idaho and Utah). She is so fun to talk to and she just so happens to be an amazing friend. She is a complete tomboy, but she still has the cutest clothes out of all of us. Granted, she only has one sweatshirt and one jacket, and is finding out that she'll need a little more than that to survive the winter...
This beautiful girl is Kim. She is super smart and pretty, but she is really self-conscious. She is an artist and Pshycology Major. Other than that, I really don't know much about her, because she has a boyfriend. Between him and her classes, she is NEVER home.
Last, but DEFINITELY not least, is Carley. Carley shares my love for the outdoors, which automatically makes her amazing! She recently returned from OSSO in Ecquador, and I love hearing about all her adventures! She loves almost everyone and is a super sweetheart. She is VERY social, and always has to be doing something, even if it is going for a walk. Walking with her is the best. She's so easy to talk to, and she tries to include everyone.

My First Corsage!!!
Yeah, I Caved!
So I finally caved. I told myself I wouldn't have a blog until I had a family, but obviously, that's not the case. This way anyone can see what I'm up to, rather than having to tell everyone the same thing over and over and over... So thanks to Tiff and Mom, I'm officially a blogger! How special!
